Where to Take Your Boat

Lake Rhodhiss
This lake provides water to many of the nearby cities and it also provides plenty of summer fun for boats! It offers a surface area of about 3,060 acres and 90 miles of shoreline, giving you plenty to explore. Enjoy four different convenient boat access areas and one bank fishing area.
Part of what makes Lake Rhodhiss stand out is its unique water experience. The water remains at a consistent level throughout the year so you won't need to worry about it being too shallow for the boat. The water itself is a gorgeous clear blue color. That's because the lake bottom is made of sand rather than clay, which tends to lead to murky waters.
As you cruise around the water, you'll soak up the stunning scenery of shoreline set against a beautiful mountain backdrop. Because not as many people are active in these waters, you'll get to enjoy a smooth ride without having to deal with the hassle of waves caused by continually passing boats.
Lake Norman
A great way to experience Lake Norman is to head over to Ramsey Creek Park. This area offers plenty to enjoy! If you have furry friends, let them roam around at the Ramsey Creek Dog Park. If lounging on the sand is more your style, enjoy the Ramsey Creek Beach. There are 43.7 acres of waterfront park for kids to play in and soak up the summer fun. If you enjoy fishing, you'll love casting your line while on the fishing pier. A horseshoe pit, volleyball court, playground and picnic shelters all provide plenty of hours of entertainment. If you want to head out into nature, enjoy the 1.5 miles of walking trails. Then, of course, there is a boat launching area! It's easy to bring your boat out into the waters and cruise along the shoreline. You can easily make boating the central activity for the day, but there is plenty to enjoy at Lake Norman too!
